Air quality study in urban centers: case study of Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso
Bernard Nana, Oumar Sanogo, Paul W. Savadogo, Tizane Daho, Médard Bouda, and Jean Koulidiati.
In this work, a study on air quality in the city of Ouagadougou (Burkina Faso) was carried out. The concentration levels of NO2, SO2, BTEX and PM10 in the city have been quantified. The results show that NO2 concentrations (range from 22 to 27 μg m-3 on average) in the city remain below the limit set by the WHO standard, except for downtown wh(...)

CYCLIC VOLTAMMETRY AND REDUCTION MECHANISTIC STUDIES OF STYRYLPYRYLIUM PERCHLORATES
Jean Claude W. Ouédraogo1, Issa Tapsoba1, Boubié Guel2, Faustin Sié Sib1 and Yvonne Libona Bonzi-Coulibaly1*
The reduction and oxidation potentials of methylated 4-styrylpyrylium and 6-styrylpyrylium perchlorates have been evaluated using cyclic voltammetry, in comparison to their non-methylated derivatives values. The reduction peak of all studied compounds remained chemically irreversible. The presence of the electron-donating methyl group on pyryl(...)

Aminata P Nacoulma, Moussa Compaoré, Manuella De Lorenzi, Martin Kiendrebeogo, Odile G Nacoulma
Plant galls are widely distributed, and their extracts are used in traditional medicine worldwide. Traditional remedies containing extracts of plant galls in China, India and some African countries have effective in the treatment of various pathologies. To open a new promising procedure for screening bioactive compounds from plant galls, stand(...)

Analytical and Stochastic Modelling of Battery Cell Dynamics
Ingemar Kaj; Victorien Konané
In this work we present and discuss a modelling framework for the basic discharge process which occurs in simple electrochemical battery cells. The main purpose is to provide a setting for analyzing delivered capacity, battery life expectancy and other measures of performance. This includes a number of deterministic and stochastic variations o(...)

Improving bug location using binary class relationships
Nasir Ali, Aminata Saban_e, Yann-Gael Gueheneuc, Giuliano Antoniol
Bug location assists developers in locating culprit source code that must be modified to fix a bug. Done manually, it requires intensive search activities with unpredictable costs of effort and time. Information retrieval (IR) techniques have been proven useful to speedup bug location in object-oriented programs. IR techniques compute the text(...)

Antioxidant, xanthine oxidase and lipoxygenase inhibitory activities and phenolics of Bauhinia rufescens Lam.(Caesalpiniaceae)
M. COMPAORE et al.,
An aqueous acetone extract of the stem with the leaves of Bauhinia rufescens and its fractions were analysed for their antioxidant and enzyme-inhibitory activities, as well as their phytochemical composition. For measurement of the antioxidant activities, the 2, 2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl, 2, 2′-azinobis (3-ethylbenzoline-6-sulphonate) and th(...)
