Parce que les symptômes ne sont pas spécifiques, la recherche de Plasmodium doit être systématique chez tout nouveau-né malade en zone d'endémie palustre.

Conclusion La fibrillation atriale est fréquente en milieu hospitalier africain et concerne des sujets relativement jeunes.
