Fertility transition in Dakar, Nairobi and Ouagadougou since the 1970s: an identical reduction at all ages through modern contraception?
Millogo Roch, Rossier Clémentine
While some researchers have predicted a fertility transition in sub-Saharan Africa similar to that witnessed in Europe, Latin America, or Asia, where practices of fertility limitation and long-term contraception have played a major role, others believe that it will differ. The aim of this article is to contribute to this debate, testing Caldwe(...)

Numerical Study of the Effect of Henry’s Constant on the Mechanisms of pesticides Transfer in The Superficial Layers of Hygroscopic Soils
Samuel Ouoba, Auguste A. Soré, Abdoulaye Kaboré and Jean Koulidiati
We describe the transfer mechanisms of pesticides in hygroscopic soils. The work consisted in using Henry’s constants of five pesticides to study the transfer mechanisms. The numerical work consisted to make a soil sample of height h with initial water content w0 and initial pesticide concentration C0 placing it in an ambient atmosphere
where(...)

Enhancing food production to prevent households from food insecurity in rural Burkina Faso: Does land ownership matter?
SEOGO Windinkonté
Purpose – This paper assesses the effect of land ownership on household food security through its
productivity enhancement effect in rural Burkina Faso.
Design/methodology/approach – As the link between land tenure security and productivity is indirect, the
study relies on a complex mixed process regression model with robustness to assess t(...)

Purification potential of local media in the pre-treatment of greywater using vertical biofilters under Sahelian conditions
COMPAORE Cheik Omar Tidiane, MAIGA Ynoussa, OUILI S. Amidou, NIKIEMA Mahamadi, OUATTARA Aboubakar Sidiki
Several on-site greywater treatment systems are under development including biofiltration, whose efficiency is influenced by the filter media. Therefore, the main objective of this study was to evaluate the influence of the type of filter media and their grain size in the removal of organic and microbial pollutants from greywater. Hence, three(...)

Caractérisation du processus de traitement des eaux usées des unités industrielles dans la station de traitement de Kossodo mise en place par l’Office Nationale des Eaux et l’Assainissement (ONEA) au BURKINA FASO
GOUBA Bernard , SAWADOGO Boukari

Anti-quorum sensing potential of Ageratum conyzoides L. (Asteraceae) extracts from Burkina Faso
Eli Compaoré, Vincent Ouédraogo, Moussa Compaoré, Ablassé Rouamba and Martin Kiendrebeogo
L'object(...)

Local existence and regularity of solutions in alpha-norm for some partial functional integrodifferential equations in Banach spaces
Djendode Mbainadji and Issa Zabsonre
By using the resolvent operator theory in the sense given by Grimmer in [1], we prove the existence and regularity of solutions in α-norm for some partial functional integrodifferential equations in Banach spaces. We firstly show the existence of the mild solutions and give some conditions for the existence of strict solutions.
