Correlative and comparative characterization of main ion concentrations in laterite groundwater in semi-arid northern Burkina Faso
Julien Nikiema, Mario Schirmer, Walter Gläßer, Ronald Krieg
About 24 samples from hand-dug wells and boreholes were used to characterize concentrations of the main inorganic ions in a laterite environment under semi-arid climatic conditions in Tikaré, northern Burkina Faso. It was found that the most represented groundwater anion in groundwater was HCO3− with average levels of 49.1 mg/L in the dry seas(...)

Structure and emplacement of granite plutons in the Paleoproterozoic crust of Eastern Burkina Faso: rheological implications
Vegas, N., Naba, S., Bouchez J.L., Jessell, M
The Fada N′Gourma area in Burkina Faso is underlain by Paleoproterozoic rocks that make the northeastern West-African Craton. This region is composed of NE-trending volcano-sedimentary belts and foliated tonalites, affected by several shear zones. A generation of younger, ∼2100 Ma-old, non-foliated biotite-bearing granites intrudes the former(...)

Structure and emplacement model for late-orogenic Paleoproterozoic granitoids : Tenkodogo-yamba elongate pluton (eastern Burkina Faso)
Séta Naba, Martin Lompo, Pierre Debat, Jean Luc Bouchez, Didier Beziat
The Tenkodogo–Yamba (TY) elongate pluton is made of apparently isotropic biotite-bearing granites that form a continuous, 125 km long and NE trending, and 15–20 km wide, succession of granite bodies that intruded the so-called batholith of eastern Burkina Faso dominated by foliated granitoids and associated volcano-sedimentary belts. Geochemic(...)

Li-Sn and Pb-Zn Type Mineralization in the Birimian Greenstone Belt of Banfora. Recommendations for the Exploration of Strategic and Base Metals, Burkina Faso, West Africa
Abdoulaye Ouédraogo, Kafohé Azise Héma, Mamadou Nimi, Seta Naba, Urbain Wenmenga
Regional exploration of base and strategic metals (Li, Nb, Ta, Sn) in the Kangounadéni sector, part of the Banfora Belt (Paleoproterozoic greenstone belt, West African Craton), was conducted using stream sediment and soil sampling around the two-micas leucogranite of Ferkessédougou. In this study, a total of 281 stream sediment samples and 640(...)
