Abundance, Diversity, and Distribution of Platyhelminthes of the African Tiger Frog (Hoplobatrachus occipitalis Günther 1858) from Two Climatic Zones in Burkina Faso (West Africa)
Patricia Soubeiga, Magloire Boungou, Yamba Sinare, Salam Sankara, Noel Gabiliga Thiombiano, Awa GnéméFrom June 2022 to November 2023, frogs (Hoplobatrachus occipitalis) from the urban and peri-urban areas of Ouagadougou, Ganzourgou, and Bobo-Dioulasso were examined for Platyhelminthes. The aim was to inventory frog Platyhelminthes in two climatic zones in Burkina Faso. The collection method used was a visual and acoustic approach. After each collection, the frogs were euthanized and dissected to examine the lungs, bladder, digestive tract, and general cavity for Platyhelminthes. 1203 Platyhelminthes in 14 species were collected from 238 frog specimens. The Platyhelminthes collected belonged to five (05) genera: Diplodiscus, Ganeo, Halipegus, Haematoloechus, and Cephalochlamys. The overall prevalence of Platyhelminthes was high (69.75%) in the 10 sites surveyed. Of the 238 specimens examined, 166 were infested with Platyhelminthes. The frog’s small intestine was the

DickoEnvironment Policy Index tool was used to carry out this study. Policy documents collected from data sources such as governmental
and nongovernmental websites, and through interviews with governmental and nongovernmental resource persons,
provided evidence of the consideration given to the food environment in Burkina Faso. Thus, policy documents show a lack of
revision of older documents and a very slow administrative process. Added to this is the lack of regulatory documentation on
concrete measures taken. An analysis of the documents collected according to the Food Epi-Tool indicators shows that food
environments are not taken into account for indicators relating to nutrition and health claims, labeling and taxation of healthy and
unhealthy foods, support systems for training private structures on healthy diets, implementation of food guidelines, and food
trade and investment. I...

Vulvovaginal Candidiasis: Profile of Antifungal Susceptibility Tests of Strange Drugs 2018 to 2022, Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso.
Dovo, EE, Zohoncon , TM, Sorgho, PA, Ouedraogo, E., Baduon , M., Gouti , P., Belemgnegre, M.,Ouedraogo , P. and Simpore, J.Background: Vulvovaginal candidiasis (VVC) is a common cause of significant morbidity, affecting millions of women worldwide. It is estimated that approximately 75%of women of childbearing age will have at least one episode of candidiasis in their lifetime. In the last decades, resistance to azoles has become a public health problem. Although studies on vulvovaginitis have been done, there is lack of VVC studies in our area. The aim of this study was to describe the etiological and resistance profiles of vulvovaginal candidiasis to standard antifungus at the Saint Camille Hospital of Ouagadougou (HOSCO), Burkina Faso. Methods: We conducted a prospective study from January 2018 to December 2022. From vulvovaginal swabs, Candida species were identified using the ChromID® Candida Agar medium and the API® Candida gallery. Antifungal susceptibility testing was performed using Kirby-Bauer agar...

Reduction of Malnutrition Related to Unsafe Water Consumption in Developing Countries: Potabilization of Surface Water and Traditional Well Water, with Plant Extracts
Frédéric Anderson Konkobo ,Mamounata Diao , Paul Windinpsidi Savadogo , Roger Dakuyo , Noëlle Edwige Roamba , Sandrine Zongo and Mamoudou Hama DickoAbstract: The consumption of unsafe water in rural areas is a real public health problem in developing
countries. This situation mainly affects children under five years of age and causes several deaths
and many cases of malnutrition every year. The objective of this study was to evaluate and optimize
the capacity of four local plant extracts in the potabilization of unsafe water. Thus, Moringa oleifera
and Boscia senegalensis seeds, or Aloe vera and Opuntia ficus-indica mucilages were prepared in a
solution and applied during a jar test as biocoagulants and bioflocculants on three raw water samples
of 82.3 NTU, 549.8 NTU and 796.9 NTU. After treatment results showed that 0.9 g/L of Moringa
biocoagulant or 1 g/L of Boscia biocoagulant applied with 0.4 mL of Aloe vera bioflocculant or 0.6 mL
of Opuntia ficus-indica bioflocculant reduced the turbidity of each water sample to values...

Linguistics Policy in Burkina Faso
Cheick Felix Bobodo OUEDRAOGOThe linguistic phenomenon that characterizes all countries in the world is multilingualism. However, for reasons of socio-economic efficiency, states choose to operate with as few languages as possible, even just one language. This is the case in Burkina Faso, which has 57 national languages but only one official language, French. As a result, due to this position, French is valued above other languages, which risk weakening if there is no reflection on the medium to long-term consequences of this language dynamic. Hence the need for a language policy, which is the subject of this chapter. Its objective is to analyze the management of the language dynamics in Burkina Faso by the Burkinabe state. The results of this research show that Burkina Faso does not have a systematic language policy because the state does not consider strategies for promoting the different national languages.

Seasonal Analysis of Aerosol Frequency and Assessment of the Radiative Impact of a Dust Episode in Burkina Faso, West Africa
Nébon Bado, Mogmenga Ladifata, Yaguibou Wêpari Charles, Toussakoé Karim and Florent Pèlèga KienoThis work is a contribution to the optical and radiative characterization of aerosols, with the aim of showing the impact of season on the frequency of typical days defined by aerosol optical depth (AOD) and then quantifying the impact of aerosols on incident radiation. The study is based on MODIS sensor observations and in situ measurements, followed by HYSPLIT and streamer model simulations. To this end, a seasonal analysis of AOD indicates a majority frequency of mixed days. These days are heavily dominated by standard days, identified by a maximum frequency centered around an AOD value, depending on climate zone and season. However, dusty days defined by AOD values above 0.8 are due to pulses of mineral particles from emission sources located in the Sahara and the associated atmospheric circulation during harmattan or monsoon periods. Thus, a
simulation of the radiative impact of a...
