Résumé

Since 2015, Burkina Faso has been facing a major internal migration crisis, marked by the displacement of over two million people fleeing terrorist violence, the weakening of the State, and intercommunal conflicts. This study adopts a geographical perspective to analyse the impacts of these forced mobilities on host territories. The methodological approach relies on a literature review drawing on secondary data, mapping of the most affected areas (Kaya, Fada N’Gourma, Ouagadougou), and an examination of the profiles of displaced persons, forms of migration, and institutional response mechanisms. The findings highlight rapid urbanization, increased pressure on local resources, and the emergence of social tensions likely to undermine territorial balances. To address these challenges, it appears essential to integrate migration issues into land-use planning policies, strengthen the resilience of local communities, and promote inclusive governance.
