This paper presents a theoretical and experimental particle size assessment of plant extracts-based synthesized Ag-Nps and Cu(OH)2-NPs. Optical response with features related to diffuse scattering dominated by the local surface plasmon resonance was utilized in the particle size determination using the Mie theory. The theoretical results were comparable with the experimental transmission electron microscopy (TEM) assessment. Moreover, the results showed spherical particles with an average size of 65 nm for Ag-NPs and 25 nm for Cu(OH)2-NPs. Both methods are complementary and consequently can be utilized for quality control and mass production of Ag-NPs and Cu(OH)2 for various applications.
