ADHERENCE TO BARRIERS MEASURES AGAINST SARS-COV2 INFECTION IN HEMODIALYSIS PATIENTS IN OUAGADOUGOU (BURKINA FASO),

Résumé

Introduction: In late 2019, world was shaken by epidemic of SARSCOV-
2 infection. In hemodialysis patients SARS COV2 infection is
characterized by high lethality. In order to stop the spread of the
virus, barriers measures were enacted. It was necessary to investigate
the compliance with these barrier measures in the hemodialysis
population. The main of our study was to evaluate
compliance with barrier measures against SARS COV2 in hemodialysis
patients.
Methods: From June 15 to 30, 2021, we conducted a cross-sectional
study in hemodialysis patients at the Yalgado Ouédraogo University
Hospital. Data were collected using a questionnaire and
analyzed using Epi-info software version 7.2.5.0. Dependents
variables were: compliance with mask wearing, hand washing
outside the dialysis center, social distancing of at least 1 meter,
coughing and/or sneezing into the folds of the elbow. We performed
a simple logistic regression to search for factors associated
with the dependent’s variable. The odds ratios (OR) with their
95% confidence intervals were calculated and assessed using the
Wald test. The significance threshold was set at 0.20. Significance
variables were used for multiple logistic regression by step-bystep.
