Résumé

Introduction. Cholera is a major public health emergency. In 2017 worldwide, there were 71-recorded outbreaks of cholera epidemics. To date, Africa is the most affected region in the world. In Niger, cholera epidemics have been occurring since 1970 in epidemic or endemic mode. This study aims to contribute to the knowledge of the factors associated with the recurrence of these epidemics in Niger. Materials and Methods. This is a repeated cross-sectional analytical study of time series of cholera epidemics in Niger. The study population consisted of epidemics that occurred in Niger from 2011 to 2020. Data were collected by literature review and analyzed. Results. Seven major cholera epidemics were recorded from 2011 to 2020 in Niger. A significant association was demonstrated between humidity and the recurrence of cholera epidemics over this period. Conclusion. The results of our work have demonstrated that climatic factors play an important role in the recurrence of cholera epidemics in Niger.
