Résumé

The chemical composition of the essential oils of Cymbopogon proximus and Ocimum canum obtained from the air-dried leaves and jlowers were analysed using GC and GC-MS Cymbopogon proximus leaves belonged to piperitone chemotype and Ocimum canum leaves andflowers belonged to 1,8-cineole (61,2 %) and le cis + trans piperitol (68,5 %) chemotypes respectively. The essential oils were tested against Gram-negative (Esherichia coli, Proteus mirabilis, Salmonella Enterica, Shigella dysenteria) and Gram-positive bacteria (Bacillus caeus, Enterococcus raecalis, Listeria innocua, Staphvlococcus aureus, Staphylococcus camorum). Gram-positve were more sensitive than gram-negative.The essential oil or Ocimum canum leaves was the most active.
