Résumé

The Internet is a key element for development today. As a result, interconnection between network content providers and users is becoming increasingly important for Internet development around the world. At the heart of this internationalization are Internet exchange points, which are entities that allow all Internet players to connect directly with each other locally. Internet exchange points have played a key role in the development of the Internet ecosystem in many regions. The advantages of an Internet exchange point for Internet service providers are a better quality of service, such as increasing speed and reducing latency. The assessment of the impact of an Internet exchange point has allowed us to confirm that they reduce latency while improving Internet speed. The objective of this paper is to verify the latency reduction and speeds increase by Internet exchange points. So, our methodology used is data collection on the website nperf.com. To do this, we determine speed and latency when two users from the same or different IXPs exchange data. We then analyze this data and interpret it.
